A real entry, shortenedHow often must an RN supervise a home health aide?
It depends on whether the patient also receives skilled services, and Indiana adds its own 30-day minimum on top of the Medicare schedule.
When the patient also gets skilled nursing or therapy, an RN must complete a supervisory assessment at least every 14 days1. For aide-only patients, Medicare requires an onsite visit every 60 days2, but Indiana's licensure rule requires a supervisory visit at least every 30 days3.
